The AF area and assist area do not turn yellow when using the AF Range Control.

Applicable Products and Categories of This Article

When using AF Range Control, the AF area and assist area turn yellow to indicate that there is a subject inside the AF range that you have set. If the subject is not within the range you set, the AF area and assist area may not turn yellow. These areas also may not turn yellow if your subject is too dark or has low contrast.

NOTE: For the SLT-A99V model, the assist area is not displayed if AF Range Control Assist is set to Off or if you are using a lens that is not compatible with Depth Map Assist Continuous AF (AF-D).
